RESEARCH TOPIC

Informative E-Menu

BACKGROUND

Human can’t live without food, restaurant serve as a daily need for human. Some people, especially working people, will always rush to catch their meal, because they only have limited time. Furthermore, ‘traditional’ method menu are very boring. Thus, this is why restaurants are requiring having a better, convenience, effective and efficient system.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

None of the menu in the world has the menu for vegetarian and for people who are wanted to have a healthy diet, especially for those people who have sickness such as diabetes, diagnosis, they don’t know what food that they can consume. Furthermore sometimes people wait too long for the waiter or waitress to approach them. Besides, for the ‘traditional’ style of menu is very difficult to define which dishes are more delicious or more information about the dish. In addition, using the waiter and waitress method may also cause mistake or miscommunication.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

To create a new way to educate people regarding health issue.

To solve the problem by creating a menu, which is user friendly, convenience, and more applicable.

To improve the interaction between customer and device.

To provide a healthy food for healthy life style.

MOTIVATION

We mustn’t ignore that there are people out there, who are health concern, having certain illness such as diabetes or diagnosis, who they or their family found difficult to order food, because they are not sure what dishes suitable for them, what they can consume, what they cannot consume, or maybe some people are vegetarian, and they cannot consume meat. Thus, mostly restaurant are still using the old method of menu, which is boring. This Interactive E-Menu not only can help to let people know what they can consume, and consume safely, but also a new way for them to learn about nutrition.

IDEATION AND CONCEPT

To create a menu that involve nutrition fact, or some dishes for vegetarian, and people who are health concern and for people who have sickness, won’t need to suffer because confuse what they can consume or what they can’t, everything is in the Interactive E-Menu. The ‘traditional’ style of menu is bored. Therefore to create menu will ‘communicate’ and educate customer.

REVIEW, ANALYSIS AND PRECEDENCE STUDIES

A similar example will be Sakae Sushi. They are using such application for their customer to order food.

Previously:

Customer has to go through waiter/waitress to order food, and this will waste a lot of time during the whole process.

Currently:

With the Interactive E-Menu, the process is faster than the ‘traditional’ method, and time saving.

DESIGN APPROACH

The food will be in photograph format, while the drawing will be illustration. Will be a combination of real photo for the food with illustration drawing.

RESEARCH TOPIC

Fighting Master

BACKGROUND

As we all know fighting is a crime and against the law. Especially among youngsters, they will somehow been influence be friend or by movie. But we can’t denied that, the right way to practice, fighting can be a form of sport or exercise. There are even tournament, where rules and regulation are set to decrease and reduce the possibility of getting injured, which is a healthy competition.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

Playing computer games with keyboard or mouse is too common and old school. Furthermore, it is not expressive enough, in order to let youngster to release their anger.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

To let youngsters to exercise.

To let youngster to expose themselves to another form of sport.

To solve the youngster school fighting problem.

To let player experience out of keyboard and mouse.

MOTIVATION

Be part of exercise or sport, with moving and some sweating, added a right way to practice and correct media to expose to fighting. Reduce fighting crime among youngster. So they are able to release their anger in a method that does not harm and hurt anyone.

IDEATION AND CONCEPT

Current trend of games are going for human and device interactive, as the human can somehow move their body to experience.

Fighting Games

Fighting game is a video game genre where the player controls an on-screen character and engages in close battle with an enemy. These characters tend to be of equal power and fight matches consisting of several rounds, which take place in an arena. Players must master techniques such as blocking, counter-attacking, and chaining together sequences of attacks known as "combos".

DESIGN APPROACH

The overall character and background will be cute and funny.

RESEARCH TOPIC

The ITC (The Intelligent Travel Card)

BACKGROUND

Recently our government encourages us to travel by public transport, rather than using private transport. This could prevent global warming and save the usage of fuel so that our country can gain more profit by export more petrol to other country, which are badly needed petrol, and could increase our country economic.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

Bus drivers, who are out of tickets, took back the tickets that he already gives out to the passengers. To produce bus ticket also is ‘killing’ Mother Nature, because the ticket is in a form of papers. Furthermore, waiting to pay for tickets is wasting time.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

To solve the problem by creating a system, which is user friendly and more applicable.

To improve the interaction between passengers and device.

To create an identification system for passengers to enjoy the benefit and privileges.

To save Mother Nature and prevent global warming.

To save time for both drivers and passengers.

To reduce the conflict between passengers and drivers.

MOTIVATION

With the rise of the public transport’s fare, the usage of tickets are horribly increase, and passenger will just throw the ticket in the public transport and it is not a good sign for our country, especially when the foreigner using our public transport, will leave them a bad impression.

IDEATION AND CONCEPT

Create a card access system with identification. In addition, a kiosk for using this system to pay for long journey buses.

Kiosk

An electronic kiosk (or computer kiosk or interactive kiosk) houses a computer workstation that regularly employs custom kiosk software designed to function perfectly while preventing users from accessing system functions. Computerized kiosks may store data locally, or retrieve it from a computer network. Some computer kiosks provide a free, informational public service, while others serve a commercial purpose. Typical input devices for interactive computer kiosk are Touch screens, trackballs, computer keyboards, and pushbuttons.

Card Access

The card access is smart card issued as standard identification for active-duty company staff. The card access is used as a general identification card as well as for authentication to enable access to company computers, networks, and certain facilities in the company. This is to ensure that the company important data or document have not fallen out to other hand.

Simple and clean layout for the online booking and kiosk.

BACKGROUND

With the advance of technology, some restaurant which have a monitor to order food system, always cause mis-communicate with that devices. Furthermore sometimes people wait too long for the waiter or waitress to approach them. In addition, using the waiter and waitress method may also cause mistake or miscommunication.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

To solve the problem by creating a system, which is user friendly and more applicable.

To improve the interaction between customer and device.

To create an identification system for customer to enjoy the benefit and privileges from the restaurant.

MOTIVATION

We come across this because we taught that the monitor or devices in the restaurant is using high end technology such as touch screen.

IDEATION AND CONCEPT

Create a card access with identification and customer screen interaction system that mainly for restaurant.

Card Access

Touch Screen

A touch screen is an electronic visual display that can detect the presence and location of a touch within the display area. The term touch screens basically refer to touching the display of the device with a finger, hand or even other passive objects, such as a stylus which is a writing utensil, or a small tool for some other form of marking or shaping. It looks similar to a modern ballpoint pen.
